
Betsy Brantley
Biography
Betsy Brantley (born Elizabeth Jeanne Brantley; September 20, 1955) is an American actress from Rutherfordton, North Carolina, known for her prolific work across European cinema and American television. After moving to the United Kingdom to study at the Central School of Speech and Drama, she was discovered for her film debut opposite Sean Connery in "Five Days One Summer". Her international career continued with notable roles in the cult classic "Shock Treatment" as Neely Pritt, the thriller "The Fourth Protocol" alongside Pierce Brosnan, and a memorable turn as the body double for Jessica Rabbit in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?". On the small screen, she is widely recognized for her series regular roles as Dr. Jennifer Seymour in "Tour of Duty" and Jesse Beckett, a veterinarian and mother of eight, in "Second Noah". Her diverse filmography also includes the action film "Dark Angel" (released as "I Come in Peace" in the U.S.), a cameo in "Double Jeopardy", and a performance as Elsie Cubitt in the Granada Television production of "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes". The older sister of producer and screenwriter Duncan Brantley, she was previously married to filmmaker Steven Soderbergh and actor Simon Dutton.
